When she was 14 she began reading Theodore Roethke's poetry, which is filled with imagery about nature. He is still one of her favorite poets. she is interested in animal rights and belongs to the Humane Society and worked in a cat shelter.She has published two chapbooks, The Street Where I was a Child and Departures.
