Rati Ji

I liked your poem “I am in Udaipur” in your previous issue.
The flow, symbolism, imagery and all are so wonderful I love this poem.
The last part of “fourth daughter” is very touchy.

An additional dimension is that my birth place Banswara is very close
to Udaipur. I have vivid memory of Udaipur as I studied there and it
is close to my heart.

“She returned home” by you and Grandfather by Manglesh Dabral
are also quite nice.

Dear Rati -

I started this file on International Women's Day, hence the date
"The Map Is Not the Territory" - has never been published in any form.
“Can You Whitewash the Spirit?” appeared in The Temple, edited by
Charles Potts, Tsunami, Inc., 2001. He is a poet who lives in Walla
Walla, Washington. Charles is no longer publishing The Temple,

but he does continue to publish books. He has a web site, which I must track down.

Thanks for your time and attention.

Sincerely,
Christina Pacosz

This is a wonderful venture. Congratulations to you all. It soothes to go through speaking and forceful poems. I shall download the Hindi fonts next time.

Thanks again.

Enjoyed the issue, a good read. Some very fine poems.

Hi there!
First of all I think I owe you a big THANKS for this wonderful poems you shared with us in your awesome website. I really enjoyed my time reading Kritya .
I read about this site also about Mrs. Saxena, her life & poetry in Golestaneh, a culture & arts monthly of my country, (you may be familiar with Golestaneh)only a few hours ago. I was so impressed by the article , her poems & Ideas that I turned my computer on immediately. I couldn?t stop reading though I got a bad sore eye & I?m glad I didn?t! Now I can proudly call myself one of Rati Saxena?s fans. She, another synonym for love. Another perspective of Indian woman.
Along with this note there?s a poem of mine, originally written in English.
THANKS A LOT
One of the thousands fans & friends of yours in Iran.

wooden

Music gets into your eyes
among the pine trees and fire smoke
in a cold silent afternoon with wooden eyes
and a wooden leg.
The windy road, wet.
The smell of a burning thing
a thing you don't know.
You are hunted by a dead brownish look
which drops on your face
a vague feeling
a sudden blow
and torments cling to the sands
in five separate lines,
lingering in tides and waves.
