LETTERS TO EDITOR

Dear Ratti Saxena

I am infatuated with the Indian culture . Now in the first decade of 21th
century , it keeps it’s authenticity more than other Eastern cultures; because
of it’s resistance against western negative manifestations. Kritya, in my view
is the symbol of this genuineness. I see deep insight and high bravery in the
poems you select for publish in your magazine . I read your feedback reaction as
a thoughtful and strong poet . The idea of “ the sixth wall” was very moving
. Your ability to quest for an untrodden way and creating a poetic world of
your own is considerable .
These are not flattery wodrs . You don’t need to it and I don’t want anything
from you .I am not a poet and I don’t want to send you any poem to publish and
so ,there is no need to false admiration . I am only a reader and my field of
specialization is architecture . You know ? In these days ,poetry has become as
senseless as philosophical theories ! We read many beautiful poems ,but their
beauty don’t pacify us . Because they don’t RECREAT our pains and sorrows .
They only ANALYSE our emotions. The poets like you and Peri help poetry to find
herself .And to find herself useful . Poetry in past times was not something
futile . For example the Hindi woman poetes you introduce in the column :Our
Masters ,inspite of their helplessness and deep miseries of their life ,
encourage us because reading their prophetical pains ,we find a meaning for
the all disasters God gives to human.

I have in my note book the poems , great poets have written about poetry . If
you like I will send for you .Here is one of them :

Poetry may change a life
Or burn white hot with passion;
It may bring a smile
Or be a coat for Jacob
Wandering the wilderness ,

But you and I know
That lust for fame is folly.
You ought to have a
Noble Prize , a Pulitzer ,
All the honors in the world.
But that is not why you write.

The suffering world
Brings about its own demise.
This world is neither
Fair nor wize , but paradize
reveals itself in every line.

Ratiji,I have gone through the issue. It is nice. Still the poem of Peri haunts me. From 11Pm I began translating it. It ended by 3AM.
I am sending you the first script of the translation. It is not good. It will have all types of errors.Still I am honoured by translating it. But I could not but do that. If only you give me consent to go ahead, I shall touch it up and publish in Malayalam. If u consent, please send me a note on Peri.
Regards,
Respects

Ratiji, I don't think the joop poetry (or non-poetry as he calls it) is a
mark of sincerity. He had sent me something like that; I shared it with a
friend of mine holdan anti-war view. He was all horror and fury. The poem
was on Quana. And his poetry is a gibblery of words in this regard. I don't
think the present Americans( the sd ones ) are real masters of American
soil. They stole the native land by all kinds of manouverings. So, any
certification of Americans is a certification They fought ugly wars and
destroyed the origianal inhabitants, Cherokees, Suamish tribes.

Dear Ms. Saxena,

This mail is to express my deep appreciation of the work you have performed in creating the December issue of Kritya. I must say that it is the best ever. I wanted to mail to you as soon as I got the first glimpse of it. But then I felt that I must read it again before I told you anything.

The greatest highlight is the poetry of michael Burch. It was my introduction to the poet, I had not read any of his works before.
I liked the poem 'The Effects of Memory', magical use of the language i must say.

Hope to hear more from you

love
Pramod

dear ratiji, i think more than poems and other literary forms, ideological essays, articles, books etc. are proving more friendly to dalit bahujan politics and anti-communalism struggles.
yours truly, ashok.
dear ratiji, thanks for including me in your mailing list.i am basically inclined in socio-political issues but have interest in literature. caste, religion, nationality, communalism, philosophy, dalit and backward caste politics are the particular spheres of my interests. sincerely yours ashok yadav.

Dear Rati, thank you for what looks like a lovely and exciting issue of Kritya. I'm only at the beginning of exploring it. The art work is stunning as usual, and T. Merrill's story is very interesting, his art exceptional. I've read a few of his poems so far - sorry to hear he is no longer writing, but everything changes in time.

Hope you are well and happy.

Best,
Joneve
