Brief Encounters

‘Go on’ She said,
Smiling in a way
That went beyond
Than just being a tease.

I laughed nervously
In response
‘You must be joking’
While blushing
Like the planet mars.

‘But you said
You loved me’
You whispered
In my ear
Like a dare.

‘No way,
No bloody way’
I responded trying
To give my voice
An air of authority
Which in hindsight
Sounded more
Like a mouse.

But before I knew it
She had licked
Her lips slightly
And I had agreed
Like Spiderman
To climb
Up to the top
Of the wardrobe
And lept on top of her
With all of my superhuman strength.

True to my luck
I missed the bed.

Brief Encounters II

When I came back from the bar,
Rick was chatting up two girls.

One had a long pointy neck
And short, cropped blonde hair
That made her head
Look bigger than it was
And which in a weird way
Reminded me of a swan.

The other was a brown haired girl
With ice-cold eyes
Which clearly showed
She had absolutely
No interest in what Rick
Was trying to say
To them.

‘ANDY’ He called out
Excited
With a tremor
In his voice
Before he then moved
His head
With a nod
As if to hurry up.

I blushed a little
And felt my face
Blow up like a raspberry
And thought to myself
‘God, what is he
Up to?’
Before trying
To walk over to him
Doing my best
Paul Newman
Impression.

Typical of my luck
Instead doing
A Paul Newman,
I instead tripped
Up on the floor
With almost
Monty Python timing.

Of course
They had both
Gone by the time
I got back.
