Colerado Springs

He is a slow deep river
That twists and turns in agony
Of each new bend…
He knows he is sea bound
At times he wishes
The sea was in sight
A long journey from that
Brash young spring
In the mountains
Many rapids navigated
But now
He wants the soft flow
Of emotions unimpeded
I watch that relentless current
Moving him onward, slowly
the changing landscape
Has awakened the depth in him
so now he sees with both
The superficial vision
Of the shallow brook
And the stony depths of
The side whirl pools
Going round and getting nowhere
And in all this
He is wise.

Beyond, Beyond

I reached into the sacred
And extracted something
Worthwhile...
My hand grasped another
In the stillness where profound thoughts
Are gifted

That is all
I am transparent but you more so
I took form from the formless
Splintered myself by warped perception
I need to seek that place
With no labels
Where purity holds court

Power in Spiritual Hunger

Was it the fire in her belly?
Or the hunger for ‘all that is’
That kept her going through nights
Where she scarce could tell
which was the greater horror?
The tomb of silence
with only piercing thoughts for company
Or the waking to a steel dawn
Suddenly transported
Into a Dali painting?
Was it the hunger in her?
That said “no not today
I will live another day
Just one more?”
I do not ever want to be satiated
I need that hunger
That fire in my belly
I need that anger that tells me
“There is more to come
Get off your knees
Walk out your destiny”
Yes!
I need the hunger.
