Davor Šalat

Davor Šalat was born in Dubrovnik in the year 1968, and he spent his all life in Zagreb, where he also graduated in Comparative Literature and in Spanish Language and Literature from the Faculty of Philosophy. He writes poetry, prose poems, essays and literary critiques, and translates from Spanish language. In the year 1991, he won the “Goran” Award at the contest for young poets. He has published four poetry collections. and the collection of essays and literary critics. In the year 1999, he has translated collection of poems of the Spanish Nobel Prize winner Juan Ramon Jiménez, “Eternities”, and in 2005, he edited selected poems of Croatian poet Željko Sabol. He was also, in the year 2006, coeditor of the antology of The Fourth International Poetry Festival in Croatia “Kairos in Zagreb”. His poems are translated to English, Spanish and Lithuanian language. He is executive editor of the journal of international literary cooperation “MOST/ The BRIDGE”.
