pregnant with death
even though
it is spring
the earth
is always
pregnant
with a large
litter of
death
perform a
sonagram
on a
graveyard
& you will see
the bodies
in the
most unfoetal
position
imaginable
their stiff
knees as far
as they can
get from their
unbeating
hearts
the idol of straw men
the crucifix
is a scarecrow
frightening away
the wings of reason
from the fields
of uninformed faith

an unhallow hollow man
fastened to two sticks
by straw men
tree of pain
the tree
of
knowledge
is really
the tree
of pain
& the
tree doesn't
fall far
from
the god
