Here
is a poem I wrote recently about a mother. I sent it to CP for
thanal.
I am Kali from the West
I came into this world
as much from Spirit as any male deity
but am often perceived by the fearful
to be less holy.
In my mortal form, men believe I am flattered by propositions
and pleased when they tell me what to do, what and who to love.
They think I am fulfilled when they try to force obedience,
saying that what they want is what I must want --
like those they hold in thrall.
Few in this establishment guess the rage in my heart
and the secret plotting I do to render the bullies harmless,
fighting each other to mutual defeat, shorn of luck.
I drink their blood afterwards, wear their teeth in my
necklaces.
Here is my story in a myth:
In a time out of mind a Spirit visited earth
to destroy what is decayed and corrupt;
She carries a snake for a staff, dancing East to West and back.
Between one noon and the next many mortals fall into Her crypt
and all become slaves who would enslave Her.

Dear Editor,
This is an excellent observation. Incidentally, I am compiling a
commemorative volume on mother on the eve of the first death
anniversary of our group Chairman's mother.
I have made some translations on the theme and I would love to
submit if the translations are permitted.
With kind regards,

Dear Rati,
First of all thank you so much for publishing my essay.
I am sorry I couldn't proof read or add anything since I was not
able to
check mails for many days. Your mother concept is great.
Sometimes we males
are also able to sense her pains. Keep it up.

Thanks. You have very rightly focused on mother in a right
direction. I myself wrote a poem 'Maa' and therein I could see
her sufferings and exploitation from the past to present,. One
of the poem on maa written by Jyotsana Milan is still in my
memories.
congratulations.

Hi
I've gone through the latest issue of Kritya. Your poems are
indeed a very touching tribute to motherhood. Pl accept my
compliments. These remind me of great Hindi poet Sarveshwar
Dayal Saxena's poems on 'Father'. I hope you have read them,
too.
I also wish to inform that I have received your publications
(Love Poems of Atharvaveda, etc) through VPP. A big thank you
for that. I shall be reading them soon.
Incidentally, my sister Ranu tells me that she met you at
Calicut at a literary festival.
She fondly remembers you.
Warm regards,
Sunil Uniyal

Dear Rati Ma'am,Warm Greetings. I have always written for my
college magazine, submitted articles to local newspapers and
poems to reputed journals . I really want to have the perfect
impetus and coveted launchpad for making an impactful entry in
the poetry space, hoping you would let me share space in this
field through your coveted journal. I am interested in sharing
my poems with you to be published in your journal. Do let me
where do I submit the poems. Is it okay if I share the same on
this email itself? Also is the journal an online journal or in
print form? How much do I have to pay as submission/selection
fees?
Since your an expert in this domain, it will be a great
privilege for me to receive guidance from you about how to go
about establishing myself as a poet and publishing my poems. I
have compiled 50 poems(original work).It is a collection of
inspirational poems covering all aspects of life - nature,
family, happiness etc.
I always had this burning innate ambition of authoring a
bestseller-book of poems on the bookstands and eventually in the
poetry lover's hands and tranforming their lives.
Any tips/guidance for a new entrant like me please do guide me.
