FOR THE BIRDS

What's the matter with you?
Come out and play
Poesy's for the birds

And the birds are chirping
In the woods
And you're inside
Studying

What?
Theology
Math
Physics

What a fool
The cerulean sky screams
Staying indoors
A crime

The suns alight
Not a cloud
Enraged
Get out

You're in the dark
About lots of things
San Francesco
From Assisi

END OF SUMMER

End of summer is about the leaves falling
Trees grown barren

As we do

End of summer will have us store
Anecdotes and tales we've gathered

What a laugh

The joy bitter
And short-lived

Our spirits raised a plateau

You've topped the crest
What lies next?

Defeat?

Replay!
With edits here and there

End of summer
Our last supper
