Leaves of the colour of nature,
fall one by one,
in the autumn rain.
That fleeting dance
quickens my heart
and tightens my throat.
Beauty never stays
but memories linger,
the leaves whisper to me
The dance I will dance
when I die
will that be beautiful too?
-----------------------------------------------
How invisible
it changes colours
in this world
the flower of the human heart.
-----------------------------------------------
When my desire
grows too fiercely longing
I wear my bedclothes
inside out,
this dark-husked night.
-----------------------------------------------
During my illness
death became friendlier than life
I began to appreciate
each moment
as though it was the last.
-----------------------------------------------
Lying alone
my back hair tangled,
uncombed
I long for the one
who touched it first.
-----------------------------------------------
Why did you vanish into empty sky?
even the fragile snow
when it falls,
falls in this world
-----------------------------------------------
While watching
the long rains falling
my heart starts fading
with the unseen colours
and the beauty of the flowers
meeting the ground.
-----------------------------------------------
Although the wind
blows terribly here,
the moonlight also leaks
between the roof planks
of this shattered house.
-----------------------------------------------
Taking a walk
I saw a wild flower.
Not knowing its name
I saw its beauty only
(Devoid of any discriminating thoughts,
prejudices, or preconceptions).
-----------------------------------------------

The way I enter
lads through
darkness to darkness
O moon above
the mountain's rim,
please shine a little further
on my path.
-----------------------------------------------
From the courtyard
Came the sound of life
Going out I found
Father and son laughing
Feeding nuts to a baby squirrel
who not yet knowing fear
had climbed the steps.
-----------------------------------------------
Innocently
before darkness and light
were divided
The squirrel is cracking nuts
And father and son are laughing.
