Ali Znaidi

Ali Znaidi (b.1977) lives in Redeyef, Tunisia where he teaches English at Tunisian public secondary schools. His work has appeared in The Camel Saloon, Otoliths, streetcake, The Rusty Nail, Yes,Poetry, Shot Glass Journal, the fib review, Ink Sweat and Tears, Mad Swirl, Eskimo Pie, Spinoza Blue, experiential-experimental-literature, Unlikely Stories: Episode IV, The Tower Journal, vox poetica, Stride Magazine, Carcinogenic Poetry, and other ezines. When Dream Turns Pornographic

There comes a time

when you just

lay your head upon

the bosom of dream,

while fondling

its soft skin,

to the point you feel

the apogee of lust

crowning those

wet moments.

Then, volcanoes

of heat erupt & gush

when you delve

into the g-point of

the sweetest aspirations—

red cherries blossom

on the dry

palm of your hand/

& pink carnations

will grow in the

At the doorstep

of spring,

under a blossoming

almond tree,

Sappho in a punk


is searching for

that rare nut,

the bitter, the better,

while her tattooed

legs are showing

tons of post-modern

tokens ideologies.

See, she is a theorist

ahead of her time!
